Seputarpublik.com || EAST LAMPUNG — A spirit of nationalism and reflection on the legacy of Indonesia’s founding generation marked a visit by the leadership of the Iran-Indonesia Forum to the residence and Bung Karno Gallery in East Lampung Regency on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The delegation was led by KH Abu Hasan, Chairman of the Iran-Indonesia Forum, accompanied by Secretary-General Jalaluddin TJ and former KPU Commissioner Achmad Herry.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dhewi Ayu Gembirowati Soekarno, who is described in the source material as the daughter of Indonesia’s Proclaimer of Independence and first President, Ir. Soekarno. Her residence is located within the same complex as the Bung Karno Gallery.

Jalaluddin TJ, Secretary-General of the Iran-Indonesia Forum, said Bung Karno’s ideas concerning international brotherhood and independence should continue to inspire public service and efforts to strengthen national unity.

“Nationalism is not merely an inheritance, but a mandate to be continuously upheld. Through gatherings such as these, we strengthen our bonds and our shared commitment to build our nation, preserve our unity, and safeguard the independence secured through the sacrifices of our predecessors,” Jalaluddin said.

Former KPU Commissioner Achmad Herry said the visit to the Bung Karno Gallery provided an opportunity to revisit the vision and aspirations of Indonesia’s founding generation.
