KH Abu Hasan expressed his respect for Bung Karno’s historic role in bringing together Indonesia’s diverse society.
“We come here not merely to visit, but to rekindle the fire of independence—the spirit of unity, sovereignty, and love for the motherland—so that it continues to burn within us, especially as our nation advances toward a more prosperous and dignified Indonesia,” KH Abu Hasan said.
The visit also became an opportunity for collective reflection on the values associated with Bung Karno’s legacy.
Jalaluddin TJ, Secretary-General of the Iran-Indonesia Forum, said Bung Karno’s ideas concerning international brotherhood and independence should continue to inspire public service and efforts to strengthen national unity.
“Nationalism is not merely an inheritance, but a mandate to be continuously upheld. Through gatherings such as these, we strengthen our bonds and our shared commitment to build our nation, preserve our unity, and safeguard the independence secured through the sacrifices of our predecessors,” Jalaluddin said.
